Gross domestic product in January-December 2019, according to preliminary estimates, amounted to 590 billion soms and increased by 4.5 percent compared to January-December 2018.

Excluding enterprises developing the Kumtor deposit, the volume of GDP in January-December 2019 amounted to more than 543 billion soms and increased by 3.8 percent.

The volume of industrial production amounted to more than 278 billion soms and compared with 2018 increased by 6.9 percent due to the growth in industrial production of metal ores (by 28.5 percent), clothing (by 18.3 percent), crude oil and natural gas (17.0 percent), production of base metals (12.3 percent), building materials (8.8 percent), coal mining (6.9 percent) and food production (4.3 percent).

Positive trends were observed in agriculture, where volume growth amounted to 2.6 percent, wholesale and retail trade - 4.7 percent, construction - 10.6 percent.

Since the beginning of 2019 (compared with December of the previous year), consumer prices and tariffs in the country as a whole have increased by 3.1 percent, due to higher prices for tobacco products (by 13.4 percent), food products and soft drinks (by 5 , 7 percent), as well as non-food products and tariffs for services.

In 2019, compared with December of the previous year, an increase in consumer prices was recorded in all regions of the country. At the same time, the maximum price increase was observed in the Batken region (6.3 percent), and the minimum - in Osh (2.3 percent). Prices for food and non-alcoholic drinks, as well as for alcoholic drinks and tobacco products increased in all regions of the republic. Prices for non-food products in the past year increased most in the Batken region (by 2.7 percent), tariffs for services - in the Naryn region (by 3.7 percent).

According to preliminary data, the foreign trade turnover of the Kyrgyz Republic in January-November 2019 amounted to more than 6 billion US dollars and compared to January-November 2018 decreased by 2.6 percent, while export deliveries increased by 9.4 percent, and import, by contrast, decreased by 6.6 percent.

The volume of mutual trade between the republic and the EAEU member states in January-November 2019 amounted to more than two billion US dollars and compared to January-November 2018 decreased by 4.2 percent.

At the same time, there was a decrease in both export deliveries by 0.8 percent and import receipts by 5.1 percent. The largest share of mutual trade between the republic and the EAEU member states was in Russia (61.6 percent) and Kazakhstan (36.2 percent).
